SigenStor Energy Controller

The Energy Controller is the brain of a SigenStor system. SigenStor is a stackable setup where the battery modules sit in a tower and the Energy Controller goes on top. The controller does the actual work: it’s the solar inverter, the battery converter and the energy management system (EMS) in one unit. It decides, moment to moment, whether to send your solar to the house, store it in the battery, charge the car or sell it back to the grid.

It comes in two versions: single phase for most homes, and three phase for larger homes and small businesses. Single-phase models run from 5kW up to 12kW, and three-phase from 5kW up to 30kW, so you size it to your solar and your loads.

A few things worth knowing.

It runs a lot of solar. Three-phase models take up to four MPPTs (the inputs your panel strings connect to), so you can run panels across several roof faces without one shaded string dragging down the rest. On single-phase models you can oversize the array to twice the controller’s rating, so a big panel setup can feed a smaller, cheaper controller and still capture most of what it makes.

It’s efficient. Up to 98.0% on single phase and 98.3% on three phase, which is about as high as inverters get, so very little of your solar is lost converting it to AC.

It punches above its weight in a blackout. In off-grid mode it can push 200% of its rated output for a short burst, the kind of headroom you need to start heavy loads like a pump or an air-con compressor without the system tripping.

It balances real-world loads. Three-phase models can put different amounts of power down each phase, which matches how a home or business actually draws power rather than assuming it’s spread evenly across all three.

Each controller connects 1 to 6 battery modules, manages the lot through the mySigen app and Sigen Cloud (including virtual power plant participation and over-the-air updates), and like the rest of the stack it’s IP66 rated for outdoor mounting.
